A few things immediately make me think of fall: cool breezes, chunky sweaters, and the smell of apples and apple cider. I have really fond memories of going to farm markets and apple orchards as a kid in the fall, and so for me apples just equal fall!
If you feel the same, I have good news: there are some truly great apple orchards within a short drive of Cleveland. And at many of them you can pick your own apples!

Where to Go Apple Picking Near Cleveland
There are several farms within easy driving distance from Cleveland where you can pick your own apples and experience this fall tradition. Prime apple-picking season is usually September-October, with different varieties of apples ripening at different times.
When it comes to u-pick apples, most orchards and farms charge you per bag, so you can come home with plenty of apples for fall snacking and baking.
Some of these apple orchards and farms offer additional fall activities, like corn mazes, hayrides, pumpkin picking, and more, so definitely plan to make a whole day of it!

1. Patterson Fruit Farm
- Where: 11414 Caves Rd, Chesterland, OH
- When: Apple picking runs from late August through October 2025.
- Info: Patterson Fruit Farm offers u-pick of several varieties of apples throughout the season. They also offer wagon rides around their orchard.

2. Hillcrest Orchards
- Where: 50336 Telegraph Rd, Amherst, OH
- When: Their fall activities, including apple picking, run on weekends from August 30-November 2, 2025. The farm market is open daily from 10 AM until 6 PM.
- Info: Hillcrest Orchards is most well-known in northeast Ohio for its fall harvest activities like u-pick apples and pumpkins, its corn maze, hayrides, farm market, sunflower festival, and more.
- How much: For apple picking, pricing is $15.95 for a 10-pound bag, or $29.95 for a 20-pound bag. Admission to the farm for other fall activities costs $14.95 per person (or $12.95 if you buy your tickets online).

3. Miller’s Apple Hill
- Where: 50549 Telegraph Rd, Amherst, OH
- When: Apple picking starts on September 20, 2025 and stretches through October.
- Info: Miller’s Apple Hill has apple picking available Tuesday-Saturday throughout the season as different varieties ripen. They also have other fall activities on weekends.

4. Geig’s Orchard

- When: Apple picking begins in mid-September 2025.

8. White House Fruit Farm
- Where: 9249 Youngstown-Salem Rd, Canfield, OH
- When: Fall Harvest Weekends run Saturday and Sunday from September 6-October 26, 2025.
- Info: White House Fruit Farm is a local favorite farm market with lots of family-friendly activities throughout the fall, including wagon rides, a pumpkin barn, a corn maze, a petting zoo, and more.
